CONTRACT AWARDED FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING NEAR VAN NUYS AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California - October 7, 2003) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded AMD Construction Group, Inc., Orange, Calif., a contract for residential soundproofing in Van Nuys. The $1,06700.00 contract will cover sound-insulation modifications on 62 multi-family residences located within the noise-impacted area near Van Nuys Airport.

(Van Nuys, CA)- Van Nuys Airport's Aviation Expo 2003 raised a record $101,000 for local nonprofit youth and service organizations, shattering amounts generated in previous years. In unusually mild temperatures, more than 385,000 aviation enthusiasts turned out for the two-day celebration last weekend, making it the most attended aviation event in the airport's 40-year history of air shows.

FLYAWAY PARKING GREATLY REDUCED DURING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TRAVEL TIPS DURING CONSTRUCTION
(Van Nuys, CA)- Construction of an improved FlyAway Bus Terminal, which began last month, has temporarily reduced parking capacity at the facility by more than 50 percent. As a result, the main parking lot located at the northeast corner of Woodley Avenue and Saticoy Street is full almost daily.

PARKING REDUCED DURING FLYAWAY BUS TERMINAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
(Van Nuys, CA)- A project to improve the Van Nuys FlyAway Bus Terminal, which provides nonstop bus service to and from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), has reduced the facility’s long-term parking capacity during construction. As a result, the long-term parking lot’s capacity is being reduced from just over 2,000 spaces to approximately 800 spaces for an estimated 15 to 18 months.

SANTA SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER BY FLYING TO LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
(Van Nuys, CA)- More than 500 students at Van Nuys' Gault Street Elementary School are in store for a special treat today when Santa flies in by helicopter to extend holiday greetings to the children. The event, an annual celebration sponsored by Van Nuys Airport's Adopt-A-School program, begins at 9:45 a.m. and features holiday gifts, live entertainment and some very recognizable mascots.

MEDIA ADVISORY SANTA ARRIVES BY HELICOPTER AT LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER
WHAT: Santa will fly in by helicopter to Gault Street Elementary School in Van Nuys, spreading holiday cheer to more than 500 children and handing out Van Nuys Airport mugs, school supplies and assorted holiday treats to all participating students. A lively ground crew featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck will be part of the festivities. Prior to Santa's arrival, entertainment will include authentic North American Indian dances by the Eagle Spirit Dancers. The entire celebration is courtesy of Van Nuys Airport's Adopt-A-School program, with funding contributed by the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, a nonprofit woman pilot's organization.Excellent opportunity for holiday visuals.
